SUMMARY:CCC Level 1 Officials Course
DESCRIPTION:The Cross Country Canada Officials Level 1 Certification Course for cross country skiing provides an overview of what a cross country ski competition is all about. The focus is on the duties of minor officials for both “Olympic” style (interval start\, pursuit start\, mass start\, relays and sprints) and “Loppet” style (mass participation) competitions. This is the first step towards becoming a Nordic official. \nYou do not need to know how to ski and the club will pay the fees for this course if you agree to volunteer for at least one event during the upcoming season. Lunch will be provided. \nSign up on Zone4 at https://zone4.ca/register.asp?id=18738. \nHere are the course details: \nPrerequisites \nAn interest in officiating. \nMinimum age of 16 years. \nCourse Schedule \nSaturday\, November 17\n9:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.\n(half hour break for lunch) \nThere will also be a small pre-seminar reading assignment and quiz\, to be done before the course starts. \nTo Bring \nA notepad and pen.
